About Me.
My name is Avi, and I'm deeply committed to social justice. Witnessing the challenges people face firsthand ignited a deep passion within me for empowering individuals and building stronger communities. I firmly believe everyone deserves the chance to thrive, and that's the driving force behind my pursuit of a career in social work. I'm eager to leverage the skills I have developed and my strong sense of empathy to advocate for change. I aim to create a more just and equitable society by supporting community-driven action and advocating for people's rights. My upcoming graduation with a Master of Social Work from Arizona State University, specializing in Policy, Administration, and Community Practice, is a step toward my goal.
My MSW internship at ICF on the Child Welfare Information Gateway project has been enriching. This essential resource, a federally supported service of the United States Children's Bureau, provides vital information on child protection, foster care, and adoption. I'm proud to contribute directly to the Information Gateway project by supporting modernization efforts, DEIB initiatives, national campaigns, legal research, and data analysis. All of these initiatives aimed to improve outcomes for vulnerable children and families.
Throughout my MSW program and internship, I've gained valuable experience in data-driven program evaluation, demonstrating my proficiency in analyzing information to drive strategic improvement. I've also championed diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) initiatives, showcasing my commitment to these principles. My ability to collaborate with key stakeholders, including senior management, highlights my ability to navigate complex systems successfully. My work on national campaigns and cross-functional teams also reflects my systems-level perspective and advocacy mindset. Meticulous legal research demonstrates my strong analytical abilities and attention to detail. Finally, my adaptability within complex team environments speaks to the essential interpersonal and communication skills I bring to the social work field.
